Bill Harbron began his career in education as an elementary school teacher in the early 1970s. Over the following decades, he rose through the ranks to become one of the most respected school superintendents in the United States — a role that demands the highest level of organizational leadership.

As superintendent, Bill was responsible for leading large teams of professionals and administrators, managing complex institutional systems, making high-stakes decisions affecting thousands of people, and building accountability structures that spanned entire organizations.

Bill served as superintendent of the West Muskingum Local School District in Ohio from 2011 to 2017, and the Northern Ozaukee School District in Wisconsin from 2002 to 2011. He most recently led the Dover School District in New Hampshire from 2017 to 2025 — where he navigated some of the most difficult leadership challenges any executive can face.
